We all have times when we feel anxious or low and it’s not always easy to know what to do to feel better. If negative feelings persist, or are starting to impact the quality of your life, book a GP appointment. It’s important to remember that mental health is as important as physical health, and that reaching out for help is not a waste of time.

There is support available to help you manage your mood.
Self-help
It’s not always easy to ask for help and find out how to move forward. Sometimes, we might want to try and improve our mood independently. That’s not always a bad thing, however engaging in self-help does require you to be really honest. If you don’t notice an improvement in your mood, or you start to feel worse, it’s time to reach out for help and book a GP appointment.
Stopping smoking
Quitting smoking can boost your mental health and wellbeing. It can improve your mood and help relieve stress, anxiety and depression.

Supporting others with their mental health
There are lots of things you can do to support someone you know who might be struggling with their mental health. It can be really challenging at times so knowing what you can do and when you should reach out for support is really important.
